The 6MWT is an important test

Make improvement the goal

How far can patients with PAH walk in the 6MWT?

  • In a study, 2525 patients with PAH walked an average of 366 plus or minus 126 meters in 6 minutes
  • An expert-recommended goal for patients with PAH is to walk more than 440 meters in 6 minutes
    • Some patients may have conditions that limit their ability to achieve this goal
  • Someone without PAH can walk between 590 meters and 640 meters in 6 minutes

The 6MWT is an important component in determining risk status. Talk to your doctor on ways to improve your 6-minute walk distance.
